Meet Ms. Cindy

Hello!

Welcome to Little Learner’s Preschool. My name is Cindy Provence aka Ms. Cindy and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help your little ones learn and grow!

This Is Where It All Started....

My family relocated to Challis almost 8 years ago due to my husband’s job at Thompson Creek Mine.  Although we were originally both from the town of Salmon, ID we have fallen in love with our little community and are so grateful for the friendships and opportunities it has brought us.  Together we have 4 children, two girls and two boys.  We have been blessed with the title of grandparents to an adorable, little boy and have another one on the way, June 2020!

With the exception of my own children, my experience dates back to 2004 when I opened my own in-home daycare in Twin Falls, Idaho.  I cared for children ranging from newborn to 12 years old.  This provided me with the opportunity to stay home with my children and sparked my passion for caring for other children as well.  In 2008 we returned to our hometown Salmon, ID and I began teaching at the Salmon School District.  I taught Title I Reading, for K-6th grade as a paraprofessional for 4 years.  This helped me to expand my passion from not only caring for children but assisting with their learning and development.

During my time with the Salmon Pioneer Elementary School I attended many training seminars to stay current and expand my knowledge on teaching techniques for my students.  When we relocated to Challis in 2012 I was offered the opportunity to teach Developmental Preschool at the Challis Elementary School.  While I have worked with children ranging from Pre-K to Middle School I especially love working with preschoolers!  It is an age that I absolutely love and am proud to say I hold a special strength in teaching the crucial development and learning skills appropriate for these early years.

In 2018 I took a leap of faith and partnered with Garden Creek School, a private preschool, as one of their two teachers.  I could not be happier with my decision as it has introduced me to so many wonderful families and given me the freedom to combine my experience and creative ideas into unique but effective teaching tools.  It is so important to me not just that my learners are reaching their full potential but that I am instilling skills that they will be able to use as they transition to primary school.  I also make it my priority to make learning fun.  I am setting the tone for the remainder of their learning years and I want to start every child off with a positive, fun and successful learning experience!

Teaching preschoolers is my passion and I could not be more excited for this new journey.  I would love the opportunity to work with your little ones!
